Reality Changers is a local college prep program for San Diego county high school students who are the first in their family to attend college. Drawing from the “Fulbright in the Classroom” model, we collaborated with Reality Changers on two Fall events:

I See Myself as a Fulbrighter (10/21/2024): We joined the first annual Reality Changers Virtual Grad School Fair in October to introduce first generation college students to Fulbright and provide an overview of the Fulbright U.S. Student Programs. Our goal was to encourage underrecognized students to reach out to the fellowship directors at their college and to apply for Fulbrights when they reach senior year.

Joining Intercultural Dialog at CSU San Marcos (10/23/2024): Fulbright Association Board Members joined with Reality Changers leadership, the CSUSM College of Business Administration, and the CSUSM Cross-Cultural Center to welcome CSUSM Reality Changers college students, foster community, and explore opportunities for academic and professional growth. The event connected Reality Changers alumni with CSUSM resources and encouraged mentorship and professional development. Our role was to introduce students to Fulbright Student Programs and other international scholarship opportunities.
