At this moment, more than 113,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for an organ transplant. Furthermore, on average 20 people die every day due to the lack of available organs for transplant. One deceased donor can save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance more than 100 lives through tissue donation.

About the speaker

Tom Mone is the Chief Executive Officer of OneLegacy, the largest non-profit organ recovery agency. Based in Los Angeles, OneLegacy serves 20 million people, more than 200 hospitals and 11 transplant centers. Since joining OneLegacy in 2000, Tom has implemented a number of innovative programs, including electronic donor records and web-based organ placement systems, the Living Donation California Referral Program and the Donate Lift California DMV-linked Registry. Under Tom’s leadership, OneLegacy has seen double the number of organs donated and currently operates the world’s largest tissue recovery program.
